Golden Harvest Blend is the easiest way to add color and interest to a dish. It is a delicate balance of Middle Eastern Couscous, Multicolor Orzo (spinach, tomato and plain,) Chana Dal Peas, and Red Quinoa. Simple to prepare, it is a versatile side that can be complimented with any number of flavor profiles.

Wheat flour, enriched durum flour (flour, niacin, ferrous sulfate, thiamine, riboflavin), peas, quinoa, may contain 2% or less of spinach powder and tomato powder. Contains wheat.

This colorful blend serves as a unique side dish for any entree. Bring 1 3/4 cups water or stock to a boil. Add one cup of Gourmet Pasta Legume Blend. Lower heat to simmer, covered for 18 minutes. Allow product to rest, covered for 3-5 minutes. Season and add oil or butter as desired. Yield about 2 cups.



Gingered Golden Pilaf

  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 3 scallions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon peeled and minced fresh ginger
  • 2 medium carrots, peeled and cut into small dice
  • 1 cup Golden Harvest Pasta Grain Blend
  • 1 3/4 cups water or chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, if cooking with water
Heat the sesame oil in a small saucepan set over medium-high heat. Add the scallions and ginger and stir for a minute. Add the carrot and stir to coat the carrot with the oil. Add the Golden Harvest Pasta Grain Blend and mix well. Pour in the water and salt or broth. Bring to a boil, then cover, lower to a simmer and cook for 18 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit for 3 minutes before fluffing pilaf with a fork. Serve immediately. Makes about 3 cups.
